Wings and Wheels

The Dome Motor Club in conjunction with the Parys Flying Club are planning a Wings & Wheels at the Parys Airport for Saturday 17 April with a Fly & Drive in and static displays of every kind of aircraft, hot air balloons, vehicles and engines. This is our second promotion of Aviation, Motoring and any activities pertaining to any form of Transport and any kind of Machinery that helped to open the frontiers into South Africa.

It will be a fun day on the Saturday with all kinds of participating events.  We envisage a "Toy Fly & Drive" for the less privileged children with a competition with a prize like a drive in a Vintage Car or a flip in an Airplane.

This will be a show for enthusiasts of Motoring, Aviation and general Transportation.Our effort is aimed at making the public more aware of the wonderful means of Transport, old and new, in our day to day walk of life”

We are planning a bonfire on Saturday evening with star gazing and a sleep over for the brave of heart. Bring your tent or caravan for the sleep over.

If you have never visited Parys, it lies in the Vredefort Dome area where a meteorite of gigantic size struck the earth some 2,3 million years ago. The site has been declared a World Heritage Site.
