Cape Gate Vaal Marathon

Route Description:

Route Type: Lap
This two-lapper gently meanders through the four suburbs of Vereeniging. While it is fair to say that the route is flat, it is by no means the easiest marathon; you will have to work the whole wa
y.

General

The Cape Gate Vaal Marathon has been consistently ranked by the Runner’s World race judges as a well organised and well presented event. Over the last four years it achieved distinction and a place in South Africa’s best loved races. It was voted the sixth best marathon.

Walkers and wheelchair athletes are welcome to enter the half marathon. This is the biggest event in the Vaal Triangle and will be run for the 36th time in 2010. It is highly recommended as a flat and fast Comrades qualifier and attracts hundreds of runners from the Reef. It is a short 45-minute drive from Johannesburg. The race has well-appointed watering stations, fun-filled entertainment along the route, and an exceptional finishing venue.

This is an ideal event which offers the elite active & recreational runner/walker a unique race format.

The first 500 pre-entrants will receive quality T-shirts (42.2 & 21.1km only -combined)
