appointment. The University of the Witwatersrand
Zoology Museum is the only natural history museum in the city of
Johannesburg. It contains the largest collection of embryological slides
in the southern hemisphere - some 40 000 in all - while the total collection
exceeds 60,000 specimens. It has a "hands on" feature where items such as
feeding in vertebrates can be illustrated.
